Little Pumpkin Baby Shower

This post may contain affiliate links, but all opinions are my own.

You guys. So much has happened since I posted last. It’s been a year, I had the sweetest little baby, life is completely wild but I really do love it! In the back of my mind (and sometimes what I daydream about) are ideas for blog or Instagram posts. I’m learning that it’s just not my season to post everything and all the things right now. Maybe one day!

Mid 2020 I hosted a baby shower for a dear friend on my street. It was Drive By style and adorable! A little pumpkin baby shower is easy to achieve, cost affective, and practical. It’s such a fun theme for October and November showers.

I love to prep for parties by using a clear plastic storage bin without a lid. As I’m planning the party I add the party things to the box. When party time comes around I pull out the box and set everything up, when the party is over I put everything back in the box and am able to take it inside/back home and put it all away. This has been one of my favorite party planning tips and seriously helps me. I haven’t had a free box for some parties and I realize it’s such a game changer!

I love to design my own invitations, but sometimes I run out of time. I’ve been finding adorable options on Etsy! These invitations were too perfect to pass up, everything was perfect: design, wording, everything! I ordered them through this shop and printed at home.

I love using the invitation as a statement piece of inspiration for the party. I grab colors, designs and the style from the invitation and any other details that can compliment the party. I love how seamless it makes the party from start to finish.

I usually use Canva for all my custom invitations and small or large prints! Canva is an amazing tool for beginners and advanced creatives. I love their mobile app too as well as their site. So great to send invites via text or email. I’ve used it for birthday parties, large family parties, church callings and more! It’s such a hidden gem!

I pulled all the decorative pumpkins that I had (and luckily my mom had many too!) to set the scene for a cute little pumpkin patch. Some of the stems on the pumpkins have fallen off and i just added another smaller pumpkin on top to add extra height and interest. I use a chalkboard easel at every party to welcome guests and add an extra touch of personalization. I need to do a post on just chalkboards alone but until then I love using these chalk pens!

I focused on one main table for this party and it was so fun to decorate! I used a solid light pink table cloth to cover the table, a custom paper garland (find free printable below) and this cute felt garland to decorate the front, a burlap table runner (trust me just get 2), leaves from Dollar Tree but you can find an online option here and various pumpkins I’ve compiled over the years rom Dollar Tree and Target Dollar Spot (I added height to the table with some small cupcake stands) I’ve found great options online here, here, and here. If you look closely you can see pink roses throughout the table. I used a pink rose garland as a base then built off that with leaf picks then fake pumpkins and the table top marquee letter signs.

For the small refreshment I made seriously delicious pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I topped them with sweet little candy pumpkins which was so easy and chic. If you hope to do this too don’t put the candy pumpkins on too far in advance. They worked out being on the cupcakes overnight but any longer was a little too much. How fun is my mock up design and seeing the finished product? I love that! I printed this tag on sticker paper, cut them in my silhouette placed them on the top of individual cupcake containers. Find the free ‘A little pumpkin is on the way!’ tag below!

I wanted something delicious and portable for the treat. I also wanted it packed in a way that could be easily taken if people drove by. Cupcake containers to the rescue! A note about these containers, they really are so great! I have used them several times for baking orders and several things from pudding cups, hot chocolate bombs and of course cupcakes and they always worked so well! This time obviously filled with my insane Pumpkin Cream Cheese Cupcakes! This recipe is SO good!

I coordinated the paper liner to the event and placed a tiny little candy pumpkin on top to match the theme and we were good to go!

For the favor I wanted it to be simple but still festive and fun! Dove chocolates are loved by all right? And the little seasonal pumpkin wrapper fit right into the pumpkin patch. I love that side by side before and after! It’s so fun to see your vision come to life! Find this free printable below too!

I put them in a cute tray for easy giving!

Mini hay bales were the perfect touch to add some coziness to this unconventional event style. I embraced the rustic feel and kept the straw that fell out of the bale. I even added single leaves to give it an even more rustic fall vibe.

My cute sister in law made the ‘Cutest Pumpkin in the patch’ sign for my baby shower with Olivia and gifted it to me years ago. It was perfect to pull out again for another sweet, little pumpkin baby shower!
