September Highlights & Favorites

This month we more fully settled into our back to school routine, mixed in with some adventures to keep life fun of course! Like exploring The Shops at South Town, it’s been so long since I’ve been to this mall it was fun to see all the new things.

I also planned a few Activity Day activities all about Back to School, the first one all about emotions I planned so much that I had to send the bag of bracelet making things home with the girls, THIS is the kit that I got and it made the cutest bracelets! The second was about school games and making and keeping friends!

We went to Burgess Orchards with family! We got their slushy and Cherry Pie Shake and Peach Shake and they were all delicious! The winner was definitely the Cherry Pie though.

We love going to the State Fair every year! We look forward to the food, rides, and animals! Liv is getting into the rides more by the year and Violet absolutely loves the animals. It’s so sweet how she loves each animal and wants to see everyone single one!

Made our favorite Baked Ziti from Kelsey Nixon for some sweet friends. This is such a good recipe to split and give to a couple friends. You can find the recipe in Kelsey’s Recipe Club, which I love BTW! You can use my code RUTHANNE20 at checkout for 20% off a Recipe Club subscription (it works on monthly or yearly! It makes meal planning a breeze, we’ve found so many great recipes from Recipe Club. I honestly love it! I rarely give meals to friends now a days so that we did it is pretty big deal and I had to document haha!

Harvested lots of peaches, carrots, tomatoes, peppers and more from our garden!

Rowley’s Red Barn with Grandma! Apple picking our favorite honey crisp apples, cider slush with caramel ice cream, apple cider donuts, apple juice and some popcorn! We finished the fun day at Maraca’s our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. It’s always so delicious!

Liv started piano lessons and it has been so fun to see her learn something new! We absolutely love her teacher, she is a dear friend from when I was younger and we’ve stayed friends all these years. One of the first things she told us was that learning piano is like riding a rollercoaster and we have experienced that, but Liv is doing SO well! She has an amazing teacher and is so smart! I’m amazed with what she already knows.

Little Violet fell and almost had to get stitches. We took her to the doctor and he decided it was not as deep as he thought so medical glue would be ok instead of stitches. So V screamed the whole entire time! haha Poor thing! We got donuts after for a treat and she got a sucker and she was all smiles! We’ve been trying to keep it covered with sunscreen and THIS has been a miracle product!

We decorated for Halloween and the girls absolutely loved it!

We went on a day trip to Logan to the Pepperidge Farm Thrift Store to stock up on snacks for Liv’s class and have a fun day with family, and of course had to grab a box of our favorite chocolates in the area at Idle Isle before we headed home!

Went to Hot Pot at KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot with my brother bear! It was so delicious and so fun!

We love the Shriners Walk for Love at Hogle Zoo, loved being with family and exploring the new Utah exhibit!

We celebrated my Mom’s birthday, the girls and I made a Texas Sheet Cake and we also had Liv’s Primary Program! Violet was so cute in her chair we love to use during church! This has been a game changer for our hour long meeting that she needs to sit still and quiet! Liv did so well in her Primary Program! Love a matching moment with the girls dresses (remember them from Easter haha).

After school snacks have started back up and Liv has loved them! I haven’t been as consistent with them but Liv always reminds me 🙂 She loves apple donuts, apples (our favorite are honey crisp) with peanut butter (linked our favorite peanut butter that is just peanuts and salt!) and sprinkles, chocolate chips or other toppings! I’ve also been organizing like usual. Currently I’m organizing our storage room and I’m loving THESE boxes! They are the perfect thing to hold lots of smaller items like cookie cutters.

We also made our Fall Candy Salad! We wrapped up some in our favorite cellphone bags and tied a fall ribbon on it and shared some with teachers of Liv’s.

We have had lots of walks, after taking Liv to school for Violet and I! I’m loving THESE new shoes I got for all my walks! Parent Teacher Conference right after Ballet, and Liv got a book at the Book Fair. I can’t believe our little Liv is already reading books! She loves Dog Man! Her teacher is reading it in class and wanted to read it herself. She read it in less than a week. Dog Man is a fun book, this one is the first of a the series, and a mix of a comic book and chapter book. Great for young kids! So impressed with how smart and hard working this girl is!

We spent an evening at Cross E Ranch and it was so much fun! They have so many fun activities, delicious food, and the best apple cider donuts we’ve ever had!

Liv set a big goal and completed it! She has been working on it for over a month and it her reward was a Build A Bear! We are so proud of her and the best part is she is proud of herself too! We spent a night at the cabin with Grandma and Grandpa! I made some Loaded PB cookies for a family event and was reminded how much of a crowd pleaser they are, they really are so delicious!

I’ve been loving trying new hairstyles on Liv! It only happens when we are early, so rarely haha but I love THIS hair tie kit!
