I was able to give the baptism talk for my sweet little niece’s baptism! I chose to share about the 3 baptism bears. If you haven’t heard it, it’s so adorable. Simple, straight forward and to the point! I love it!

A few months ago when I attended a different baptism of one of the sweet girls in my activity day class, the lady that gave her baptism talk gave the girl getting baptized a giant candy bar that related to her talk and everyone else a snack size of the same candy bar. I thought OH my what a good idea!! I have to remember that if I ever give a baptism talk! So when I was asked to speak for this baptism I knew I wanted to make something similar happen.

So I wanted to give my niece a larger bag of gummy bears to go along with the 3 Baptism Bears talk and…

everyone else a little bag of gummy bear cubs! The Albanese gummy bears are seriously so delicious!! I did do this with permission of the mom of the baptism girl and I passed them out after she got baptized, and told everyone I wanted them to remember the 3 Baptism Bear talk too and reminded everyone to be reverent. After a few minutes I went around and asked for trash so there weren’t crinkling plastic ruining the rest of the program.

I’ll share my talk below in case you’re in need of a baptism talk too. Honestly I got it from someone else I found via Pinterest! I’m so grateful that others share their amazing talents! I also gave my niece a small stuffed bear that had a white hair bow in it so she could use the bow again and again and both she could save and remember her baptism day! The tags and display papers of each bear were made and from my sister Brittany.

The 3 Bears of Baptism
I’d like to tell you a story about 3 bears. It’s probably not the 3 bears you are thinking about. The 3 bears I am going to tell you about will hopefully always remind you of the baptism covenants you are making today. A covenant is just a fancy word for a promise with God.
The 1st BEAR-is Bear the Name of Jesus Christ
When we are baptized we make a promise to Heavenly Father that we will take on the name of Christ. We will be called a Christian. Just like you have the name of your father and mother and are in the _____ Family. You now have the title of “Christian” and belong to Heavenly Father’s eternal family.
The 2nd BEAR-is Bear one another’s burdens
As members of Christ’s church we also promise to bear one another’s burdens which means serving other people. It means that we help each other with work that needs to be done, or sit with people who are lonely or sad so that they don’t feel alone.
The 3rd BEAR-is Bear testimony
Lastly, when we become members of Christ’s church we promise to always bear our testimonies about Him. This means that we live our lives so that people will know that we are Christians who love and care about others, and believe that Jesus Christ is real.
When we are baptized and make these promises to Heavenly Father, He promises something in return, He promises to send the Holy Ghost to always be with us and Heavenly Father NEVER breaks a promise.
Unfortunately, because we are living in such a difficult world all of us will break a promise with Heavenly Father. He knows this and He loves us anyway. He has given us the sacrament to take every Sunday so that we can renew our promises again and again and again.
I finished by saying how proud of my niece I was and asking her if she could come and stand by me for a minute. I told her to look at all the people that came just for her today and I knew that even more angels were there in spirit and so proud of her. Our Heavenly Father was so proud of her too. I told her about the bear, bow and gummy bears I got her and that she could sit down now then I finished with bearing my testimony and how I’m grateful for eternal families and that we (the baptism girl and I) are in the same one, I tried to use her name when I can to make it more personal and let her know this talk was for her but leaving it out now so you can put in your own baptism boy or girl easily.

It was a fun day celebrating new beginnings and kids getting older! So grateful for this beautiful family and these adorable kiddos!
