Determined to get highlights up because it’s a form of memory keeping for me! I love to look back at what we did and read about what we were doing. It’s a journal with pictures and I absolutely love it! November started with dance for V, the cute new snow bib for Liv, some adorable new to us-decorations from a friend (I love decorations!!), and of course walking home from school hand in hand!
We were so lucky to be able to host Dallin’s oldest brother for a night for a big surprise party for Grandpa Strong! It was his 25,000th Day of Life so when my MIL figured that out a few months ago she let me and my sis in law know and we got to party planning! It’s been so fun to brainstorm some fun ways to surprise him and think outside the box! Another sis in law thought of 25,000 orbeez, Rosie made a card that was 25,000 square half inches and bought and found him gifts that were all related to 25,000, my brother in law even brought 25,000 ml of homemade apple cider to go along with Grandpa Strongs favorite dinner and birthday cake (red velvet cake with blue frosting). It was so fun! We loved having Josh here for a few hours and the girls were absolutely loving the one on one time with him! haha they were always opting for him to read books or his help over mom or dad. Liv is really wanting to visit Josh and his family now!
We started our Thankful Tree and loved remembering what we are grateful for each day in November leading up to Thanksgiving! You can find how we do our Thankful Tree HERE! It’s so fun to see that Liv writes her own now and her adorable handwriting. I love to write exactly how Violet says it like, “Brandon Warner is a cutie pie!”.
We decorated our Christmas trees, the girls have little ones in their rooms, and the rest of the house for Thanksgiving. It helps prep for Christmas SO much! Dallin and I had Pie Night with our friends, where every couple brings a pie to share and we just relax and eat pie! It’s so fun and relaxing and a nice night to just chat and catch up with adults.
We prepped our yard for winter meaning bags and bags of leaves, the girls loved playing with all of them! Prepping the yard is a big reminder of my Dad’s heaven day/angelversary. We were prepping our yard last year when we got the call he had fallen. Life can change in an instant. We know that all too well.
On November 18th and the day before we sent off some balloons to Papa per the girls request and left some flowers with the rest of our family. We miss Papa, life is not the same with him in heaven! It’s been a hard year to say the least.
Dallin and I decided that we all would need a pick me up after the year mark of my dad’s passing so on the next day we headed to Disneyland and surprised the girls! It was so much fun! I’ll try to make a post about our trip. It was so fun. Disneyland during the holidays is extra magical!
When we got back we were in full Thanksgiving prep mode. Decorating for Christmas, a cousin birthday party that was so much fun, a few more birthday freebies, and our favorite chicken pillows for dinner. Luckily we brought home some Disney treat that we can enjoy for a long while!
The day before Thanksgiving we had our first official Pie Day! We mad 3 different pies: Key Lime, Peach, and Chocolate Cream. Dallin even took the day off so we could prep for Thanksgiving, it was so fun! We started Thanksgiving with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thanksgiving was really fun with Dallin’s family, specifically Rosalie’s family. We tag teamed dinner and it turned out super delicious! We made an incredible amount of pies! haha I loved it! Rosie really made the most, she made lots of classics that her mom, my MIL usually makes that made it extra special!
Leftovers after Thanksgiving are always the best! The mess after Thanksgiving is always the worst! haha especially this year. We jumped right in to decorating for Christmas, yard cleaning, school and post vacation and holiday! It was a lot and so always so fun with these cuties!
