Back to School Sprinkle Party

Our Back to School Dinner has come and gone, but I still wanted to share the sweetness with you! Each year before school starts we like to have a special dinner with our girls to welcome in the new school year, which includes a new theme we as a family like to focus on for the school year.

My little Violet has been obsessed with Sprinkle Parties from Gabby’s Dollhouse on Netflix so I thought it would be a perfect time to have one of our own. I just had to find a way to tie it into our theme. I used ‘Every Day is a Sprinkle Party, Find the Sweetness in Every Day!’, as our theme. I was also able to use most things from Olivia’s 5th Gabby’s Dollhouse birthday party which made it really easy too!

Something I opted to buy this time around are the wall sticker sprinkles. They were SO easy to put up and made such a fun backdrop! I have a collection of donut, cupcake, and even ice cream decorations I have been given over the years and I went through that box to use for this special dinner. Added in a few cake stands, a white scalloped cake stands and this cute ‘Life is Better with Sprinkles’ sign and we were well on our way to our Sprinkle Party!

Along with the fun sprinkle wall decal stickers I was able to find the cute donut mug I was given years ago as a gift too, online!

Had to pull out my chalkboard easel (I got mine from Hobby Lobby, but I linked a similar option) to help introduce the theme! I wrote on it with my favorite chalkboard pens.

The table setting was so sweet πŸ˜‰ and simple! I used a scalloped table runner, and sprinkled on some sprinkle confetti. I used one of the sprinkle wall decals for name tags at each place setting and carried on the sprinkle theme with sprinkle dinner plates, dessert plates, and napkins.

I got the cutest sprinkle sunglasses to help them look for sprinkles throughout their day, as well as a sprinkle bracelet to remember to focus on and remember the sprinkles of goodness! I happened to have some ice cream straws that matched the theme but THESE would be so perfect, and are even better in my opinion! I redid an old handout of mine to make it fit the dinner and theme. I told the girls they can keep it in their room for the rest of the school year! You can find it below if you’d like to do it for your family, friends or church group too! I told the girls that just like any plain dessert it’s fun and delicious but with sprinkles it’s extra fun! I encouraged them to find the sprinkles of sweetness and goodness throughout their day and read the handout to them.

I love the tall vases (I got mine from Dollar Tree years ago but I like THESE a lot more.) filled with circus animal cookies and cake stands (mine is old, linked similar) filled with all sorts of sprinkled goodies like donut holes!

I gave a little bundle of books to each of the girls. Violet got How to Catch a Class Pet and some learning and coloring books.

Liv got a bundle all about First Grade since thats the grade she is going into this year! Her bundle included: The Night Before First Grade, Be Big!: Beatrice’s First Day of First Grade, My First Day of First Grade, First Grade, Here I ComeHERE‘s another option that I wish I would’ve gotten.

Love a shot from above!

I love to incorporate fresh flowers into all of my events. I tried to stick with classic white and greenery because of all the super colorful sprinkles. I arranged the flowers in small dessert glasses, similar to shot glasses then filled the round, bubble vase with lots of sprinkles. Slowly nestle the flower arrangement into the sprinkles. This way you can reuse your sprinkles for baking! I also had leftover mini popsicle stick sprinkles from Olivia’s first birthday party that I used as a decoration on the open shelves. They are so easy to make with mini popsicle sticks and acrylic paint!

Each person also got a mini candy jar full of Mike and Ike’s, aren’t they the cutest jumbo sprinkles! Now Violet calls all Mike and Ike’s, sprinkles! haha BTW, THIS flavor is the best!!

On another cake stand (mine is old, linked a similar option) I put some sprinkle sandwich cookies, funfetti cupcakes! These were great in a pinch and fun to share with lots of friends after the party!

The donut holes were a fun option and packed with sprinkles, but I love the Walmart mini donuts the most!

I also gave the girls their Back to School Baskets and some sprinkle themed books! The sprinkle themed books include: Everything is Better with Sprinkles, If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, Gabby’s Dollhouse Sprinkle Party, Dinos Love Donuts. I’ll make another post on their Back to School Baskets!

I also hung our Sprinkle Party banner I made for Liv’s Gabby’s Dollhouse Birthday Party! If you’d like it email me and I’ll send it to you!

We also hung some cute sprinkle lanterns from the light, and gave the girls gifts for the family like a giant Gabby’s Dollhouse puzzle, and a Gabby’s Dollhouse wooden puzzle, and Strawberry Milkshake Pop Tarts. That all happened to match the theme perfectly!

We actually didn’t end up eating any of the treats on the table after dinner and had a fun Sundae Bar with Grandma! I’ll post more on that soon!

We had a classic dinner of spaghetti and meatballs with our favorite garlic bread and a salad. A simple dinner made so special for our sweet girls to start off the year right!

You’re such a fun mom! 😍 I love all the little details and how you coordinated things so well. My kiddos love little keychains so maybe I would add some sort of keychain for their backpack. My 9-yr old daughter also loves hand sanitizer and chapstick so I’d probably add those as well. ☺️

You’re so sweet Brooke! Thank you! I love those ideas, I didn’t even think of hand sanitizer and chapstick. Definitely a necessity at school!
